Basically, poker is a game played by a group of players at a table. The object is to create the best possible hand out of five cards. Poker games vary in rules, but the basic concepts are the same.
To play, a person places a small bet (ante) into the pot. Usually, the ante is $1 or $5. The remaining players then make an additional money bet. The bets and raises continue until there are no more players left. The player with the best hand wins the pot.
